🐾 The Bears Cave – Frequently Asked Questions 🐾

Where curiosity meets comfort, and every cub finds their cave!

What is Age Play, really?

Age Play in a fetish/kink aspect is a roleplay between consenting adults. Participants can role play from baby through to adult and even elderly. There are main age groups: Adult babies, Littles, Middles & Bigs.

What’s the difference between Littles, Middles, and Bigs?

The difference is the age range the participant identifies with best. Many people engage in Age Play for varying reasons. Age play is quite psychological so it usually requires a certain headspace called "Littlespace", "Middlespace", "Bigspace".

So… why do some adults wear nappies or diapers?

People like to wear them for various reasons, some have not stopped wanting them from their childhood and find themselves craving it, others wear for textile reasons, comfort, some are incontinent and have medical needs but have accepted and grown to love it.

What’s Pet Play all about?

Similarly to Age Play, participants' head space changes to dehumanise themselves and roleplay as particular favourite animals. They enjoy being treated as their persona, being petted, played with (ball throwing, tug of war, use of pet toys, galloping etc) and dressing like their chosen pet.

What kinds of pets are common in Pet Play?

Dogs/Puppies, Cats/Kittens, Horses/Ponies, Foxes, Rabbits, and yes Bears!

Is Age Play or Pet Play sexual?

It very much can be, however remember this is done by consenting adult human sexual beings. It does depend on the reasons for wanting to participate though, many regressors (pet and age) do so for safety and comfort and the innocence. I would say a high percentage of people are non-sexual in their space.

How do people get started or explore safely?

The best place to start is to get involved in online communities through social media, tread carefully and respectfully and obey the rules of consent. Once you are comfortable (and people are equally comfortable with you) engage in in-person events and activities, a good place to start is something called a munch (an informal public event for socialising and meeting people). Depending on the event, play or attire is usually left for actual events. We run a monthly event called The Cave Club which is a social event, we usually have a theme or planned activity and you can wear what you feel comfortable in inside the venue. Before running off to play please make sure you have vetted the person and have had a good chat about the boundaries and your limits. Please contact us if you wish to ask anything about your prospective play partner. We have been in the scene a long time and if we don't know them we can find out for you.

What does “Caregiver” or “Handler” mean?

A Caregiver(Cg) is someone who essentially "tops" for someone in Age Play whereas a Handler is someone who "tops" for someone in Pet Play. Cg's can be a parent, older relative, sitter or older sibling (in a role play sense). Handler's can be owners, pet-sitters.

How do I find my comfort level or role?

The best way to find your comfort level is to experiment with trusted friends and/or partner and talk with them about what you like/dislike. This is also relevant for finding your role, however it's usually something that sits naturally within you just waiting for that someone or environment to feel safe letting it out. There are lots of online resources to find your role. You can also book a session with us in our Nursery and we can help you in a safe environment.

Why is The Bears Cave involved in these topics?

Both Bear and MummaKandii live the lifestyle and are involved in the local Perth community. The Bears Cave was started out of a need to provide Age and Pet Play products to the local community. Contact Us if you have any questions about the above or questions about you and your age or pet play journey. We'd love to hear about your experiences and we love to help! ❤
